Whether it’s with words or pictures, Chris French (Frenchy), tells stories about flawed characters trying to navigate morally grey/corrupt worlds. Theses stories are usually action thrillers, sometimes with a fantasy element. He’s also known to write the odd family film from time to time.
Frenchy spent almost a decade working at Fuel VFX as a CG Lead, On Set Supervisor, and Operations Manager. During this time he worked on a diverse range of projects such as Charlotte’s Web, The Spirit, Australia, Captain America: The First Avenger, Thor, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol and Prometheus. Some of his other credits include Thor: Ragnarok, Wrinkle In Time, Outlaw King and Skyscraper.
As a writer, Frenchy has worked with Digital Pulse and Curiious, helping to infuse story into their virtual reality projects. In 2020, he wrote the animated film Dreamlanders. His most recent collaboration is with Virtually Human Studio on their digital horse racing game, Zed Run.
During his time in VFX, Frenchy was tasked with creating images that had never been seen before, and it’s this mindset that he’s carried over to his writing, creating works that blend the cinematic grandeur of film with the unlimited possibilities of narrative fiction.
